MEC SITHOLE-MOLOI CALLS FOR PEACE AND POLITICAL TOLERANCE DURING BY-ELECTIONS IN THREE KWAZULU-NATAL MUNICIPALITIES<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the campaigns for the by-elections in three municipalities draw to a close, the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Honourable Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi, has called for political tolerance among leaders and voters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming by-elections are scheduled to take place in Ward 73 of eThekwini Municipality, Ward 12 of Mandeni Municipality, and Ward 12 of Umzimkhulu Municipality. Over the past week, several political parties have been actively campaigning in these areas. In light of this, MEC Sithole-Moloi has stressed the significance of maintaining peaceful and respectful conduct by all parties involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs we approach these by-elections, I urge all political leaders and supporters to conduct themselves in a manner that fosters tolerance and respect for the democratic process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We encourage voters to participate actively by exercising their democratic right to vote,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MEC also emphasised the importance of selecting councillors who will dedicate their efforts to enhancing service delivery and addressing community needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As the custodian of cooperative governance, MEC Sithole-Moloi called upon all registered voters in the aforementioned municipalities to engage in the by-elections and choose councillors who will prioritize the well-being of the people, striving towards the betterment of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, MEC Sithole-Moloi stressed that the democratic process must remain fair and transparent, and all parties and candidates should adhere to the electoral code of conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

“I urge all parties and candidates to uphold the electoral code of conduct and demonstrate respect for the integrity of the democratic process. Let us embrace the principles of democracy and work together to build a prosperous future for all,” concluded MEC Sithole-Moloi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
