Strategic Objective<\/strong><\/p>

Objective 1: To provide overall policy direction (both strategic and political)<\/p>

Objective 2: To monitor and reduce security threats and risks within the department.<\/p>

Objective 3: To achieve high level of beneficiary satisfaction and employment opportunities.<\/p>

Objective 4: To drive the Department’s participation in the alleviation of poverty in KwaZulu-Natal.<\/p>

Objective 5: To improve the public image and the manner in which the Department is perceived.<\/p>

            • Manage Ministerial appointments<\/li>
            • Manage the MEC\u2019s diary and itinerary<\/li>
            • Provide support for the Executive obligations of the MEC<\/li>
            • Implement, analyze, and implement the Minister\u2019s directives and instructions<\/li>
            • Deal with formal correspondences<\/li>
            • Ensure parliamentary support services<\/li>
            • Attend parliamentary sittings<\/li>
            • Liaise with Parliament and National Council of Provinces<\/li>
            • Attend Public Works Portfolio Committee meetings and coordinate Cabinet memoranda<\/li>
            • Manage communication and marketing services<\/li>
            • Ensure effective and efficient external and internal communication services<\/li>
            • Formulate and maintain communication programs<\/li>
            • Provide exhibitions and publishing services<\/li>
            • Manage Public and Media Relations<\/li>
            • Arrange media briefings for the MEC<\/li>
            • Act as spokesperson for the MEC<\/li>
            • Research, draft, and coordinate speeches for the MEC<\/li>
            • Monitor, coordinate inputs for, and control bills<\/li>
            • Coordinate stakeholder and community liaison<\/li>
            • Manage intergovernmental relations and special projects<\/li>
            • Provide administrative support<\/li>
            • Manage and facilitate financial and budgetary support services<\/li>
            • Manage and coordinate registry services<\/li>
            • Manage reception services<\/li>
            • Manage driver\/messenger services<\/li>
            • Manage and coordinate protocol services<\/li>
